2023 College Leaders

Congratulations to Dylan Collins (College Captain), Benjamin Smith, Asher Humphrey and Christian Ballarin (College Vice Captains) on their election to positions of leadership.  Congratulations to all students who were shortlisted for these positions; the depth and quality of the field was outstanding.

We look forward to working with, and supporting, Dylan, Ben, Asher and Christian in their roles. We are sure that they will continue the fine tradition of student leadership, and make their own special mark on the culture of the College.

Brother Tony

We offer our congratulations and thanks to Brother Tony, who has just celebrated his 'Ruby Jubilee', having served 40 years as a De La Salle Brother.

Br Tony has had a range of ministry appointments - O’Connor Catholic College, Armadale, St Michael’s College, De La Salle College, LaSalle Catholic College, De La Salle College (Mangere East) and St John’s Regional College.  He has served as a member of the District Council, the Lasallian Services Commission for PARC, the La Salle College Board and represented the De La Salle Brothers at Catholic Religious Victoria.

Congratulations and thank you Br Tony.

Teaching Excellence

Congratulations to staff members Paul Morrison, Robyn Kensley and Craig Radley, who have been selected into the Teaching Excellence Program for 2023.

The Teaching Excellence Program is a one-year program designed to advance professional knowledge and practice for highly skilled teachers from Victorian Government, Catholic and Independent schools.  The program builds teaching excellence through a focus on disciplinary knowledge, practitioner inquiry, responsive pedagogy and dispositions for exceptional teaching.

Paul, Robyn and Craig were required to partake in a rigorous selection process.  Their expertise has been recognised and rewarded with selection into the Teaching Excellence Program. The primary beneficiaries will be our teaching staff, as they share in the knowledge developed by these teachers, however the ultimate beneficiaries will be our students.

University of Melbourne Scholarship

Congratulations to Year 12 student Romolo Esposito, who received the nomination for the 2023 Melbourne Principals' Scholarship at the University of Melbourne. Romolo was nominated for this scholarship in recognition of his academic achievements and contribution to the College.

Conclusion of the 2022 School Year

As we approach these final, important weeks of the College year, students and parents might like to ponder the below as “food for thought” -

Life is like a camera.

Focus is what is important,

Capture the good times,

Develop from the negatives.

If things don’t work out, take another shot.

I would, again, like to acknowledge and congratulate the students who have consistently applied themselves, willingly shared their gifts and achieved personal excellence. Let us celebrate those students who have demonstrated a Spirit of Excellence and Endeavour within our College, with the hope that every student can personally commit themselves to achieving excellence, that is, their 'personal best'.
