Teaching and Learning in Prep M

We can’t believe that our first year of school is nearly over. We have been so busy in Prep this year! We have learnt so many new things and have had lots of fun experiences. Here are just a few highlights from our year.

Jolly Phonics

We have learnt so many letters and sounds this year during our Jolly Phonics lessons. They have helped us learn to read and write. We’ve done lots of fun activities when we learn new sounds like blowing bubbles, eating jelly and making masks.

Special Days

We have had lots of fun celebrating a number of special days at school this year. Some of our favourites have been the colour run, 100 days of Prep, book parade and the Prep car rally.

Excursions:

We have been lucky enough to go on two excursions so far this year, with another one just around the corner! We visited the Melbourne Zoo and learnt all about animal habitats. We also got to see Pevan and Sarah in concert. We were very excited to see them on stage and singing all our favourite songs! 

Musical

A big highlight of our year was definitely the musical. We loved singing and dancing on the stage and did such an amazing job in front of a big audience!

Remembrance Day

Last Friday we commemorated Remembrance Day at school. We talked about why we have this day each year and read a special book. Then we worked together to make a special wreath using all of our hand prints.
