Principal's Report

Fundraising for Rochester

Earlier this week I received a lovely letter from a resident in Rochester.  She had heard about our Junior School Council wanting to raise money to help Rochester Primary School and was incredibly thankful to our students who thought this was a great idea.

As we know Rochester (like many towns along the Campaspe and Murray rivers) have been decimated by floods over the past few weeks.  No doubt many of us have ventured up this way on our holidays.

Dawn (who wrote to me) has a granddaughter attending LPS and has a wonderfully long connection with our school.  So, let’s dress brightly tomorrow and donate through QKR for a great cause!

Oval Works

Having spoken with the successful tender, CJP Landscaping, oval works will begin towards the end of summer (end of Term 1, 2023).  This means we can still have our Christmas concert on a stage on the oval on Wednesday December 7th, starting at 5.30pm.

A Quick Shout Out

Braxton Green needs to be acknowledged for his wonderful effort (alongside Mr Flynn) on trumpet playing parts of the Last Post at our Remembrance Day commemorations.  Well done Braxton and we look forward to next year!

Expectations

Even though we are entering the latter stages of the year, our expectations on behaviour, uniform and attitude remain the same as they always do.  I expect to finish the year off strong without having to follow up on behaviours.  Please talk with your child about finishing the year on a positive note!

New Shade Sails

A new shade sail is being installed over our stage/rock area in the junior play area.  This is part of the COVID response from the government where all schools (who applied) were eligible to receive a shade sail to help with outdoor learning.  Thanks to Mr Balzary for organizing this for our school.

Mr Hickey’s shade sail grant has been successful, and we will install another shade sail in the junior play area over the spider web.  These works will begin in Term 1, 2023.  Lots happening!

Christmas Concert

It’s back!  Wednesday December 7th - 5.30 – 7.30pm on our school oval. Grades are beginning to select their songs and will being practicing for the upcoming concert.

Please note: School Council has been moved to 6th December due to the concert being on our School Council night.

Have a great fortnight,
