Year 12s finishing

We are rapidly heading towards the end of the academic year and recently our Year 12 students concluded their studies with us. It was impressive to see students negotiate catch-up sessions with teachers, use the school's study room and library space, and dedicate time and energy to completing outcomes and units of work. Our Year 12 cohort was significantly affected by the COVID pandemic and extended periods of shut down/remote learning in the years when they were preparing for and entering their senior secondary school studies. To overcome such considerable disruption, remain in school and finish year 12 is credit to the resilience of the young people we work with. Several students have work or further study lined up for 2023 and we look forward to hearing about their ongoing journey in coming years. We wish them well.

Election commitment

On Wednesday this week we were visited by the Minister for Sport, Steve Dimopoulos and Labor candidate for Richmond, Lauren O’Dwyer. They announced that, if re-elected, the Government will provide better netball courts and more opportunities for community use by investing $1 million towards the delivery of upgrades to our netball courts at our Richmond campus. This is potentially exciting news for our school.

New enrolments

We are currently enrolling several students for commencement either before the end of this year or in 2023. Traditionally, our student numbers have fluctuated year on year and this makes it challenging to determine the composition of next year's class groups until late in Term 4. We acknowledge that this can cause anxiety for some students and families, and I can assure you all that our teaching and learning, and our student wellbeing team, will be working to devise the final configuration of student groups to ensure the most effective start to the 2023 school year.

Student end-of-year reports

Teachers are currently writing end-of-year reports for students. Reports are an important way for our teachers to provide you with detailed feedback about the academic and social-emotional progress of your young person. When receiving your young person's report, please read through it carefully, discuss it with your young person, and contact the relevant teacher/s if you have any follow-up questions or concerns.

Finally, if you require a school report to be translated into a language other than English, please contact the school to let us know.
