Years 7 and 8 Interschool Sport

On Friday 18 June, we received some great news that the previously cancelled Year 7 and 8 Division sport days were able to go ahead.  It was wonderful that so many families were able to organise their consent and payment in such a short timeframe.

We were able to run try outs for those sports that required them where we had multiple teams entered, and finally on Wednesday and Thursday the Year 7 and 8 students were out representing our school!

It was an extremely successful two days for Auburn with a number of teams winning their division. Even more importantly, it was great to see so many students out enjoying their time with their classmates and others within their year levels.  It was clear that all students had a great time and represented our school to the highest standard.

Congratulations to all teams for their wonderful efforts and conduct – and a huge congratulations to the following teams who have qualified for the Region competitions to be held next term:

• Year 7 Girls Netball
• Year 8 Boys Badminton
• Year 8 Girls Netball
• Year 8 Boys and Year 8 Girls Soccer

Thanks to the staff who gave up their time to coach and take the teams out on short notice, and a huge thankyou to the past students who also helped to coach the teams.  It is wonderful to see our former students staying connected with our community and being role models for our younger students.
