Bastille Day celebration

Once again, Auburn High School embraced the colours of the French flag – blue, white and red – to celebrate Bastille Day!  This year, we were fortunate to be able to celebrate on the actual 14th of July.  We had to adjust some of our planned activities to adhere to COVID protocols, but the impromptu Jean D’arme (Gendarme) visit in our classes and throughout the school was a time to practise la joie de vivre and a bit of welcome silliness.  Lunchtime was enjoyed by all with our inaugural Tournoi de Pétanque.  Well done to the students who participated in this novel event.  Finally, thank you to all French students for their creative contribution of posters of French celebrities which now decorate our school.  Overall, a successful day of French celebrations.
