Ancient Greece (Greek Gods & Mythology) – by Ava Gelastopoulos 7A
Here is an extract of the poem Ava wrote following her study of Ancient Greece
People say Chaos was the beginning of everything
But really, he was a void of nothing
He had deity and choice
And he used his voice
But really, he was alone
Wanting for someone to come home.
Waiting and waiting
For no one to come
Well, that was the plan until Gaia showed up.....
Poem analysis/Research – by Indi Young 7A
Indi wrote this reflection following her study of Ancient Egypt
I really enjoyed this poem because the author told the story of everyone in ancient Egypt and how they lived. It also told us about what happens when they die and how they bury them and mummified them. It also spoke about the pyramids and the treasures inside and what the best pyramid was that was found and what was inside of it. It also gave little hints about things that happen, such as “And when the waters flooded, it made them smile” - you can tell that they obviously didn’t get much rain and water, but it also said, “a healthy crop oh, was such a lovely view” - you can tell that they didn’t have much food in ancient Egypt and that they needed the rainwater to grow their crops so that they could eat. I enjoyed this poem because it gave me lots of information in a few short sentences.
