Harry Potter Mega-Quiz

On Tuesday, 3rd August, four Harry Potter fanatics took part in a Harry Potter Mega-Quiz in the library. All four participants tried their very best, answering an impressive number of questions without multiple choice options.

It was hard to pass Grace McGuane of 7F though, who won with a total of 30 points. Ali Ibrahim of 7A took second place with 14 points, followed by Maram Fayrooz Ali of 10C with 6 points. Gemma Troost of 8C was not as quick on the buzzer and didn’t score but was a very enthusiastic participant as well.

In the end, Gemma won a model of the Golden Snitch, Maram, a Hogwarts letter writing set, Ali, a Marauders Map and Grace, a complete set of Harry Potter signature edition books… but in the ultimate show of sportsmanship and generosity, Grace and Ali swapped prizes so they both ended up with their desired prize.

“Today was really stressful but exciting! There were quite a lot of questions all together and I didn't expect to come first. Ali and I both wanted each other’s prizes, so when we were the last ones standing we decided to swap prizes and it made both of us happy.” - Grace McGuane

“I loved participating in the quiz, the opportunity to win a Harry Potter book set motivated me to click the button but alas the button did not press fast enough as Grace emerged the winner. In the end we swapped prizes to fit the others preference and we all had fun and got what we aimed for. 10/10 would do it again!”- Ali Ibrahim
