The Impact of Giving 2022 report acknowledges and celebrates the wonderful outcomes made possible by the generous contributions of time and financial support from the Friends’ community. As we conclude Illuminate: The Campaign for The Friends’ School, we celebrate the first-class learning environment made possible by those who contributed to this campaign.
To everyone who has given their time at the School or played a role in Illuminate, we offer our deep personal and sincere thanks. When you give to The Friends’ School you help us make extraordinary things happen for students.
We hope you enjoy reading the Impact of Giving 2022.
What a delight it was to reopen the transformed WN Oats Centre on Thursday 23 March as part of our annual Community Appreciation Day celebrations, and share this state-of-the-art new facility with our community. We were so fortunate to have Bill Oats’ extended family with us to officially re-open the Centre, along with so many others from the Friends’ community able to celebrate with us.

In 2023, we move to the next phase of philanthropy at Friends’ as we continue to support students to make a positive difference throughout the world. Having completed the Illuminate campaign that supported the new facilities on the Commercial Road campus, we are returning our focus to needs-based scholarships that enable children to access a Friends’ education.
Friends’ Together 2023 will launch early in Term 2. This year we are asking our community to contribute to The Friends’ Fellowship, a needs-based scholarship that will enable a young person, who can least afford to attend the School, to start at Friends’ next year.
The Friends’ Fellowship was established in 2018, is funded by community donations and has already supported four students to attend the School. Our goal this year is to involve 200 donors in this life-changing initiative. It’s not the amount that is important, but choosing to join us on this journey, to change a young person’s life. There will also be options for donating to the Library Fund and Building & Development Fund.
More information about Friends’ Together 2023, and the opportunity to donate, will follow early in Term 2.
