Attendance

Regular attendance at school is vital for student success. Continuity of learning is best achieved by attending school everyday it is open. At St Johns Park Public School we have a target to improve student attendance so that most students are at school for at least 90% of the time.

In Term 1 there were 47 teaching and learning days. For a student to attend for 90% of the time they must be at school for at least 43 of those days. This includes arriving late or leaving early.

Term 1 attendance awards are being given out this week. For your child to receive an award they must have been at school for at least 90% of the time, including partial days.

We need to work together to ensure our students have every chance of success. We have recently introduced the Sentral Parent Portal and we are sending out notifications to all families when their child is absent from school. We ask that you reply to these notifications in a timely manner, explaining the reason for the absence.

We also ask that any holidays not be planned in school time.
