Year 3 Fun Afternoon!

What a jam packed afternoon it was! The bell rang at 3.15pm and then the fun started for the Year 3’s. The excitement filled the room. This afternoon was a way to promote and build collaborative skills and team work. It gave the Year 3’s a glimpse into the camp experience they will have in Year 4. 

We started with changing into casual clothes and having some healthy snacks to get us ready for lots of physical activity. Next we were put into teams and came up with a creative team name. We worked in these teams for the whole afternoon! We had to complete five challenge rounds to earn points. Some of the challenges were throwing balls into buckets, group dance off, four corners, heads and tails and tunnel ball. Everyone worked well in their teams and were encouraging of each other. They showed great sportsmanship and had a positive attitude. 

Next we had a disco where we had the chance to show off our dance skills. We have some really talented dancers among our Year 3s. After all this physical activity we were all hungry. We had a delicious dinner and then it was time to reflect on our afternoon. The afternoon ended with a liturgy where the children had a chance to share ways we can follow in Jesus’ footsteps, reflect on our own qualities and the qualities of others.
