Yr 7 Ancient Day

Ancient Day was fun and exciting for the year sevens because there were events we got to do throughout the day. I would like to first tell you about the gladiator battles. In the gladiator battles we got to have pretend weapons and pretend fight people. There was an opportunity to dress up as the empress who got to decide if the person with the weapon at their throat died or not.  You got to wear cool costumes and have cool weapons. We also did learning on ancient Greece, Rome and Egypt. We got to dress up how they would of during that time and learn about their daily life.

Ancient Day was a huge success everyone participated and enjoyed themselves. We learned about different ancient practises like in Egypt they would marry their own siblings, cousins and half-cousin. People got to dress up as different people from different times depending on what they were dressing up as. It engaged our focus a bit more into what we were learning so it made us learn and remember more then we might of if they just stood there saying fact after fact, but it also gave us the ability to learn visually by getting to see your classmates in the clothes they used to wear and what they would have to do on a daily basis.
