Cert II Agriculture taster visit

Ten interested year 9 students attended the Cert II Agriculture taster morning at Salesian College Sunbury on Thursday May 18th. The students learned about the broad scope of careers an agricultural qualification can lead into: Farm Hand, Farm Tradesperson, Farm Supervisor, Farm Manager, Regional Farm Manager, Crop Protection Specialist, Public Relations Consultant in Agribusiness, Agricultural Entomologist, Agricultural Inspector, Agricultural Microbiologist, Stock Agent, Agricultural Engineer, Agricultural Scientist, Officer.

 

The Cert II Agriculture course will run in 2024 at Salesian College on a Wednesday afternoon 1:00pm to 5:00pm. Students will learn both inside and outside the classroom about fencing, managing livestock, cropping production, animal handling, viticulture, horticulture, land management projects on site at Salesians active farm.

 

The cost is covered by the Department of Education. The only fees will be uniform and transport to and from the venue.
