Year 8 Update

The Year 8 students have settled into Term 2. There are still many of the same reminders about ensuring everybody is wearing the correct uniform and bringing correct equipment to class. However, a high majority of the year level are consistently doing the correct thing in regards to these things.

This term in connect Year 8’s have begun a new program called ‘Live4Life’. ‘Live4Life’ is mental health first aid, designed especially for rural students. The program will help students to understand mental health, so they can support themselves and each other. Through the program students will take part in conversations to reduce the stigma attached to mental health and be mental health leaders and ambassadors.

As part of Year 8 Performing Arts, students are currently exploring and creating their own animations using either stop motion, or commuter generated animation. This is their third project after doing a Stomp Performance and a Radio Play. Currently half of Year 8 are doing Performing Arts, the other half will do it next term.
