EASTER School Prayer

This Wednesday 26 April Kindergarten students and teachers led the school community in prayer focusing on the joy and hope of the Easter season. Easter is a time of new beginnings with Christ as our light. On Easter Sunday, Christians celebrate the day Jesus was resurrected – the day he rose from the dead. Thank you to all the parents and friends who joined the school community at this time.

During this season of Easter we as a school community are challenged to continue Jesus’ mission of LOVE and outreach to the poor and needy in our community and in the world today. We wish all within our school community Peace and Joy throughout this Easter Season.

Lent - Project Compassion

A huge thank you to EVERYONE who generously supported Project Compassion 2023 both at home and at school. As a school community we were able to raise $1131… Wow!

This money will support many needy people.

Thank you to Ivy (Yr 6) and Poppy Swanson (Yr 4) for their efforts. The girls planned, organised and held a Bake Sale for their neighbourhood, raising $78 for St Vincent De Paul and Project Compassion.

During lent I had the idea to raise money for Project Compassion by making chocolate brownies and selling them to family and friends. I wanted to do this because it was my last year at St Joseph’s. I bought all the ingredients with my own money and my goal was to raise $100 for project compassion. I achieved my goal and more as I ended up making over 150 brownies and have raised $150. It was a great project to work on over the last few weeks and I had a lot of fun doing it.

‘As part of their Lenten commitment to ‘make a difference’ Sophia Murrie, Celie, Ashby and Elliott Swinnerton raised $372 for Project Compassion 2023.  This money was raised through little activities like bake sales and car washing but will hopefully go on to make a big difference.’
