Uniform orders are filled on Tuesdays.

Completed order forms need to be at the school office by Friday for orders to be filled and delivered to your child by Tuesday.

The Japanese Word of the Fortnight

だいじょうぶ (pronounced ‘daijohbu’) which means ‘Are you alright? / alright’ is the Japanese Word for Week 2 & 3 of Term 2. You can say ‘’ (‘daijohbu’) to someone who is not feeling well or hurt instead of saying ‘Are you alright?’. As an answer, you can also say ‘だいじょうぶ (‘daijohbu’)’ to mean ‘I’m alright’.

MUSIC NOTES

Dear Parents,

Hooray! Junior Choir has commenced each Friday between 1:00 - 1:25 p.m. and the students from Grades 1-4 are all very excited and enthusiastic.

Junior Choir students are encouraged to bring along a plastic display book (approximate cost - $2.00 from Officeworks and Newsagencies). These books enable students to bring music home in a neat and orderly fashion so they can practise in their own time.

Grade 5 and 6 Senior Choir has also commenced. These sessions are between 1:00 - 1:25 p.m. every Thursday. There are certainly some fabulous voices coming from our music room and we have great fun!

A multi-level ukulele group, consisting of children from grades 3, 4, 5 and 6 commenced in Term One with students jamming and learning together every Tuesday between 1:00 – 1:25 p.m.

It’s never too late to join in, and all students from Grade 3 and up are welcome!

CAMPS SPORTS AND EXCURSION FUND

If you are new to Valkstone Primary School (or an existing family with a new sibling starting at Valkstone) and you are the holder of a Health Care Card, you may be eligible for CSEF.

This is an annual payment, payable to the school, to be used towards camps, sports or excursion costs for eligible students.

Card holders with new Prep students are also eligible for some school uniform. Please bring your Health Care Card to the office and complete an eligibility form.
