The Victorian High-Ability Program

The Victorian High-Ability Program (VHAP) is a ten-week online program where students engage in both synchronous and asynchronous learning with a teacher using VSV Online. The High-Ability Practice Leader (Maureen Delane) supports the students’ participation at Murrumbeena PS. VHAP offers two programs: English and Maths.

The English Course titled - The Power of the Pen includes the following topics:

The role of writing in our world, The history of writing, The Hero’s Journey, Archetypal characters, Exploring the writing process, Comedy writing, Understanding narrative perspective and Literary devices.

The Mathematics Course titled - Patterns: From Symbols to Secrets includes the following topics:

Busting your brain, Divide and conquer, Numbers on papyrus, parchment, and stone, Powerful patterns, Big number bust, A place for everything, Time traveller, Swapping places and Amazing anagrams.

The selected students were totally engaged in the challenging tasks.
