  • experiment with visual conventions to create particular visual effects in representations
  • experiment with variety of materials to create a desired effect
  • explore an artist’s practice
  • identify the influence of an artist on their artwork.
  • explore the use of contrasting colours

Dance

Learning Intentions

Students will:

  • identify styles of dance
  • explore where, why, and how dance is choreographed and performed across cultures
  • notice, describe, and discuss a range of features about dances made, performed, and viewed
  • experiment with skills for moving safely and expressively, expanding on known ideas to create new and imaginative combinations
  • collaborate to structure movements and choreograph a dance sequence using the elements of dance
  • use the elements of dance and choreographic devices to structure, rehearse, and perform a sequence that communicates an idea
  • give, receive, and reflect upon peer and teacher feedback for their dance
  • perform their dance in an informal setting.

Media Arts

Students will:

  • explore media arts works for different purposes and audiences
  • explore and display images by framing the subject matter, using basic shot types and angles to control the picture space
  • experiment with the concept of storyboarding for film by constructing a short sequence that expresses something about themselves and a favourite place
  • record and upload a spoken audio track to accompany the animation

Drama

Learning Intentions

Students will:

  • experience a variety of roles and situations and develop scenes within the plot and setting of the story
  • develop an understanding of voice, body, movement, and character
  • experiment with pace, volume, and pitch in voice
  • shape and perform a short, improvised scene with a sense of role and situation, using body and voice to demonstrate character
  • demonstrate character development using the elements of voice and body through practical tasks.
  • perform designated roles within groups, respecting everyone’s contributions to a shared outcome.
  • adopt a character role and successfully maintain focus
  • perform their work in informal settings.
