In Term 1, our focus is on lifelong physical activities, the health benefits of physical activity and mental health and wellbeing.

Learning Intentions
Students will:
- examine different types of physical activity and the benefits to their own and others’ health and wellbeing
- explore strategies to stay healthy and active, examine factors that improve participation in physical activity and participate in games and physical activities to experience health and wellbeing benefits
- examine and interpret health information and the intention of the national guidelines for improving physical activity and lessening sedentary behaviour
- investigate, propose and apply strategies to increase regular physical activity and enhance their own and others’ health and wellbeing
- use decision making and problem solving to investigate and propose strategies to increase regular physical activity to enhance health and wellbeing
- examine how personal identities can be strengthened through persistence in overcoming and meeting challenging situations.
Term 2
In Term 2, our focus is on heritage and culture, relationships, mental health and wellbeing.

- explore and recognise the diversity of games, beliefs, and practices from a range of cultures
- investigate how heritage and culture influences their own and others’ identity
- understand how responses to adversity and challenge contribute to success
- identify how relationships and roles influence identity
- practise and describe strategies to manage emotions and predict emotional responses
- identify people, sources, and strategies to help manage change
- identify and apply skills and strategies to interact with respect and empathy
- identify how valuing diversity influences wellbeing and actions to promote inclusion.
