Prep students do not attend school on Wednesdays during February
To help with the transition to school and to allow for early years testing, prep students do not attend on Wednesday during February
Working Bee
This Sunday between 9.00 and 12.00 we have a working bee to spruce up the school prior to students returning on Tuesday, everyone is welcome to help along and help out.
jobs include:
- lots of sweeping / leaf blowing
- whipper snipping of paths and hard to mow spots
- some mowing (most has been done prior to my mower conking out)
- spider web removal from windows etc.
- weeding and watering
- rake over soft fall under playgrounds
- leaf removal from the sandpit
- probably other things that you will notice on Sunday!
- thanks in advance to anyone who has some time to help
Booklists
If you ordered from the class booklist from Education Plus, the boxes were delivered to the school today. We will send them home with students on Tuesday so you can add names to the items inside and bring them back the following school day. If you did not order from Education Plus, please make sure you label the items your purchased elsewhere with your child's name and send them to school on Tuesday.
Morning classroom visit for and morning tea for parents and carers
Our classes would like to invite parents and carers to visit our classrooms between 9.00 and 10.00 on Friday 03 February to meet teachers and explore the classroom, this will be followed by a morning tea at 10.00am hosted by me. this will be an opportunity to get to know each other and to ask any questions that you may have
Parent / teacher interviews
Classroom teachers would like to invite parents and carers to an optional parent / teacher interview. Individual teachers will let you know the dates and times that these will be happening - stay tuned for more details
Compass
This year we will be using the Compass student management system. For parents this will mean you can use an app on your phone or the Compass website to record absences, communicate with school staff, consent to excursions, pay for excursions etc. and much more! I will send out more information including how to log in to your account, hopefully on Monday
School uniform and hats
The wearing of school uniform is optional. Last year our uniform supplier ceased operating and we are in the process of moving to a new supplier. in the meantime we have a number of polo shirts in all sizes in stock. When the UV is forecast to be 3 or above, students are required to wear a broad brim hat when outdoors or they are asked to remain in a shaded area. We are currently out of stock of school hats, but similar navy blue hats may be purchased from stores such as Kmart
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend
Chris
