Principal Report

Dear families,

We are on the home stretch towards the holidays. The next two weeks we will keep up the energy for learning across the school before moving into the fun activities at the end of the term. The market day last Friday was a wonderful learning experience for the grade 56 students and a great way for the rest of the students to participate in helping support charities. Thank you to the staff across the school for supporting the 56 students and their teachers.

There are lots of big-ticket items on the horizon, with something for everyone.

  • Art show and carols for the community - Monday 12th Dec
  • Prep Magic Journey Christmas Show - Friday 9th Dec
  • Grade 1/2 fun night and grade 2 sleepover - Friday 9th Dec
  • 34 Camp - 7-9th Dec
  • 56 Bounce - Friday 16th Dec
  • Grade 6 graduation - Thursday 15th Dec
  • Last day assembly - Tuesday 20th Dec - let's keep attendance strong so we can farewell our grade 6 students

This Friday 2nd December the grade 6 students will hand the leadership reigns to our grade 5 students. Parents of grade 5 and 6 students are welcome to attend.

Remember Monday 28th November is our last student free day for the year.

Gratitude

I would like to share a thank you to Mrs. Granger for her work on the sending children's work in for the Lilydale Show. Mrs. Granger was nominated for best school in the show and one of our students Ally Pfeiffer was best in class and best junior....Ally is also an Art Captain this year. We are all proud of you Ally and your win.

I would also like to say thank you to Mrs. Donnolly for organsing the book fair to run on election day as well as all the staff and parents that volunteered to help on the book fair and the P&F BBQ. The election result did not go in our favour for a new cover for the quadrangle.... but we will push on with our own funds and share some plans for this area in the next newsletter.

We are currently finalising teachers and staff moving to other schools, and those new teachers and staff who are joining our team. We will update you next newsletter on 9th December. Classes and teachers will be a little later this year as the state-wide transition day is Tuesday 13th December.

Thank you for all your help and support so far this year.
