Parents & Friends News 

Hi, I’d like to introduce myself, my name is Louisa and I am really looking forward to being your P&F (Parents & Friends) Leader. I joined St Mary’s three years ago and I’m the mum of the beautiful Alyssa who is in Year 2. I would like to thank Kasia and Rian for leading us and for all their amazing work in 2021 and 2022. Kasia will still be involved this year until she has her baby and Rian has been working hard to create our school business directory. 

We are looking for an Assistant Leader and a Treasurer to join to our team. We are also looking for Class Reps for each year level. The P&F is a great way to get involved with the St Mary’s community and meet new people. We meet once a term, usually on a Thursday at school. We meet face to face and also online for those unable to be onsite. Toddlers are welcome at all our meetings. Our first meeting this term is next Thursday 9th February in the Staffroom at 2:30pm. If you are interested in being a Rep please email Anthony Speranza (anthony.speranza@smstkildaeast.catholic.edu.au).

We also have a SWEG (School Wide Event Group) team who plan our major fundraiser. Lynn and the team did an amazing job last year. Again please email Anthony if you are interested.

We are excited to start the year off with a Welcome Mass this Sunday 5th February at 5:30pm. The Year 6 Leaders will receive their badges along with our Semester One 2023 SRC students. Families are welcome to a BYO picnic in Alma Park if they wish afterwards.

Friday 17th February is our Welcome Drinks that will be held at school (details to follow). This will be a great way to meet the St Mary’s Community.

We look forward to Tuesday 21st Shrove Tuesday and in the morning the children will have pancakes. If you can help, please let me know.

Throughout this year we will be planning working bees and will need lots of volunteers. We each help in our own way, and this is what makes our St Mary’s community so wonderful. 

Don’t forget every Wednesday morning we have our Stay, Chat and Play that opens at 8:45am - 9:30am. Toddlers are very welcome and those without toddlers are also welcome. 

Our next Second-hand Uniform Stall will be on Thursday 9th February from 3:20pm - 4:00pm. 

If you see me around school, please don’t hesitate to stop me for a chat. 

I look forward to meeting as many parents as possible.
