Welcome back to Sport in 2023 

  

My name is Mitch Clark and along with Meg Hubbard, we are the Physical Education teachers in 2023. We are very excited for another big year ahead in sport! Here are some of the key events in the first few months of the year. 

  

District Swimming (Monday the 20th of February)  

It was great seeing so many students attend the try-outs for our District Swimming team last Sunday. The 2023 team will be selected shortly and will represent Rangeview at the Nunawading District Swimming Carnival on the 20th of February, good luck!  

 

Before School Run Club (8:25am - Oval)  

Run Club will commence from this Tuesday 7th February. We will meet at the crossing near the oval at 8:25am every Tuesday and Thursday morning, unless the weather is inclement (an email will be sent at 7:30am on the morning, if the event it is cancelled due to weather). Run Club laps will be recorded each day and students will be acknowledged for on-going participation throughout the year with awards being given for 100, 200 and 300 laps. If you are able to assist with the dots or supervision around the course at any time, that would be greatly appreciated. All students welcome!  

  

Level 3-6 Athletics (Monday the 27th of March)   

This year, we will again be heading to Bill Stewart Reserve in East Burwood for our House Athletics Carnival. Students will have the opportunity to represent their houses in discus, shot put, long jump, high jump, 100m, 200m & 800m races. Parent volunteers are greatly appreciated to help this day run successfully, we will send a volunteer sign up form out in the coming weeks.   

  

Whole School Cross Country (Friday the 28th of April)  

This year, we will be again be running our Whole School Cross Country. More information will follow in the coming weeks. 

 

PE Program 

This term we will have a focus on Athletics across our PE sessions, students from Level 3-6 will continue to grow their skills in running, throwing & jumping ahead of our House Athletics Carnival later this term. This will also be reinforced during our Level 3/4 & 5/6 Friday Sport sessions. Our Foundation to Level 2 students will be focusing on the Fundamental motor skills of jumping, running, throwing and catching through a variety of modified athletics activities.  

 

Sporting School Clinics Term 1 

Our Level 3-4 students will be getting to learn new skills in Lacrosse this term in the Quick Stix Lacrosse program, whilst our Level 5-6’s will continue to grow their skills in Hockey clinics.  

2023 House Captains 

Here are our house captains for 2023, you will see them helping at all our sporting events throughout the year. They are very excited about the year ahead!
