END OF TERM BBQ LUNCH – Friday December 16

We hope the kids enjoy their BBQ lunch tomorrow if they have put their orders in! This is the 4th BBQ lunch we have organised this year and we would like to thank Leona D (Nina and Margot’s mum) and some of our dads (Jeff E and Mark B) for cooking up all the sausages this year.

Mediterranean Butchers Prahran also deserve a big thank you for donating all the delicious sausages for each of the BBQ’s this year, thanks a million Leo!

Our End of Term BBQ’s made a profit of $1500.00 this year, thank you so much for supporting them!

PICK UP POP UP CAKE STALL – Friday December 16 at 3.30pm

Our final cake stall will be held tomorrow as well. It is at 3.30pm this term because it’s a normal school day. Join us for some afternoon treats and a catch up to get into the holiday vibe a few days in advance! Please bring food contributions to the Food Tech room at drop off on Friday morning or by 3pm on Friday afternoon.

The 3 Cake Stalls we have had so far this year have made a profit of $1570!

ICE CREAM FRIDAY – will be back in 2023

Our ice creams have finished for the year and will return next year during Term One. Thank you to all parents and students for supporting us with this fundraiser during Term Four. We made a profit of about $600 in a single term from the ice creams, what a fantastic result!

TOASTIES TUESDAY – will be back in 2023

Our Toasties Tuesdays have finished up for the year, with our final one last Tuesday. Thank you so much to all our families that have supported this fundraiser. A special thank you to Mickie E, Courtney H and Paula N who have helped prepare the toasties every Tuesday this year. Thank you to Woolworths Prahran for donating all the ingredients every single week of this school year, it meant that every toasty we sold was pure profit. We are so grateful for their support with all our fundraising endeavours.

We made a profit of about $3453.00 during 2022, how exciting!

Toasties will return next year and we are currently looking for volunteers to cook them up on Tuesday’s during Term One. If you could help each week or for a couple of the weeks, then please message Elaina on 0407 431 429.

2022 P&F Fundraising Report

We have had to stick to our weekly smaller fundraisers this year due to a few reasons, mainly the building works and smaller pool of volunteers. Even so, our small team of volunteers have constantly given of their time and effort throughout the year (some every single week)! We are hoping to ramp up our efforts next year and would be excited to have as many hands on deck to suggest and then run some school events.

Along with End of Term BBQ’s, Cake Stalls, Toasties, Ice creams we also had Donut Fridays – We were able to sell these during Term 2 and 3 in 2022. Thanks to Sarah B and Michelle H who handed them out each week to the throngs of excited students. We are also appreciative for the support of Woolworths Prahran who donated the donuts every single week which allowed us to make a profit of $1340.00.

The WPS P&F Committee also supported some student led events during 2022.

We loved helping the Grade 5/6 students to launch and run their Bliss Ball Drive during Term 4. During this drive the kids made nearly 700 Bliss balls with the help of some parent volunteers which was a mammoth effort and lots of fun! They successfully made $500 profit which subsidised their special Grade 6 jumpers for 2023 and also subsidised the 2022 Grade 6 excursion to Luna Park. Well done to the students for all their hard work, it really did pay off. Woolworth Prahran and Coles Prahran donated all the ingredients for making the Bliss balls which meant that all the money they raised was pure profit. We are so grateful to our two local supermarkets for their support.

Also during Term 4 ‘Vaquita Day’ was organised and run by our wildlife warriors Sophie and Lia. We were happy to be part of the day by organising the icy poles that were sold and also donating profits from ice cream sales that week. Coles Prahran were kind enough to donate the icy poles so all sales went straight to their cause.

We were also able to organise for Coles Prahran and Woolworths Prahran to donate supplies for our Grade 6 Graduation dinner which is happening tonight in our new School Hall. The kids will enjoy dinner, snacks, drinks and dessert together with their teachers in a very specially decorated space and we are so glad that we could organise to offset the costs incurred for the night. Congratulations to our Grade 6 students, we hope you have a wonderful night!

And finally our 2022 Staff Thank you Lunch was completely paid for from cash donations given by our amazing WPS families. This is an event that we love to host at the end of each year to show a collective appreciation to our WPS staff and teachers. Thank you for your support so this could happen once again this year!
