VCAL news

This term is going to be a very busy time for the VCAL students. Fingers crossed COVID does not impact too much on our plans!

Year 11 students will be focusing on homelessness. They will be travelling into the city, to complete a day with the Salvation Army. The students will be running the RUOK whole school day and will also be involved in a Winter sleep out at the end of the term, raising money for a number of charities that support youth homelessness in our community.

For Year 12 VCAL, their focus will be at a world level. Students are learning about world poverty and developing initiatives of support.

On Thursday 26th August, they are going to run a Trivia Night for our Lyndhurst Secondary College school community, to raise money for the students’ chosen charities.

The Trivia questions will be designed so that the whole family can participate.

Families will be invited to book a table, to participate in this event. Table numbers can vary between 2 and 10, it is up to you. There will be a flat fee of $10 per table. Supper will be provided and there will be a silent auction running on the night, where the VCAL students will be auctioning off some of their art pieces.

Prizes will be awarded on the night to the winning tables.

Time: 7pm to 8.30pm

Further details on how to book for this event, will follow in the next few weeks.

Along with their usual curriculum this term, students will also be branching out into the Advance program. Students will have the choice of completing a 4-week unit on healthy relationships or leaders in sport.

We're looking forward to a busy term and can't wait to get back onsite!
