Principal's Message

Dear Parents/Carers,                                                           

“Empowering students for learning and life”

I would like to introduce myself to the Lyndhurst Secondary College school community. I am 

Leanne Winfield and it is my pleasure to be the Acting Principal for Term 3 at Lyndhurst Secondary College. 

For the last 18 months I have been Principal at Euroa Secondary College which is a small country school in the lovely town of Euroa, just off the Hume Freeway. Prior to this I worked at Bentleigh Secondary College as Assistant Principal. 

Originally from around this area, I have decided to move back so I am very pleased to have gained this position. Last week, I was out and about in the school grounds meeting students at recess and lunchtime as well as going into classes to see what they are learning. I met with Konnie Prades during the holidays for a handover of the role and I am very pleased to be able to continue the wonderful work that Konnie has done to develop the school, particularly as Principal in the last 5 years. 

Our Parent Information Evening was held on Wednesday 14 July with lots of parents and students attending. 

This session begins the Course Counselling process where students are able to indicate subject preferences for the following year. Course Counselling sessions for Year 9 and 10 were due to be held this week, however this has been postponed due to the extended lockdown and as we continue to adapt our schedule to Remote Learning, further Information will be provided to parents and students through Compass.
