New Network Meetings for KM

A couple of new network meetings began this term. The Risk and Compliance Co-ordinators, the Business Managers met for the first time on-line straight after Melbourne was in lockdownNonetheless, it did provide an opportunity for people in similar roles to meet each other and to share expertise. These two networks will continue to meet twice a year as a group of thirteen ministries. The aim is to be a source of support for each other and to deepen our understanding in the forever changing landscape of new legislations and accountabilities, policy review and risk frameworks. In this age of every increasing compliance, KM is very grateful for the backing offered by each ministry which ensures that KM meets is own statutory and legal obligations and responsibilities.  We never cease to be impressed by the sense of pride, dedication and mission that each one brings to their work each day.

To continue with the implementation of the Living Justice Living Peace Charter (LJLP) the first combined meeting with the Faith Leaders and the Learning and Teaching Leaders was held in May. This meeting was a face-to-face meeting at the BMC which brought a new and invigorated energy to the center – one that we had missed over COVID lockdowns.

The day examined ways in which we further the conversations around the pillars of Living with Compassion; Learning with Wonder and Leading with Courage through every aspect of school life but especially how expression to LJLP is given through the curriculum.  The Year 9 Bridges Programme at Kilbreda College was presented by Learning and Teaching Leader Jane Ward, which incorporates the Living Justice Living Peace Charter. It aims to build resilience, independence, dependability and generosity whilst pursuing excellence and self-esteem.  Jane Ward was thanked for her excellent presentation with many expressing an interest in exploring similar methodologies.
