Booklists will be available to families in Term 4 and the last date to return the booklist order to school is Friday 29 November 2019. Orders can also be placed online with Campion directly.

We feel that this will give us an opportunity to celebrate more of our students than previously. Students will be notified when results are released.

VCAA End of Year examinations

Students are advised to check their examination timetable on the VCAA website and to familiarise themselves with the examination conditions well in advance of their examinations. Wellbeing and Engagement

Last Monday 21 October we gathered as a whole school community to celebrate student excellence and recognise the many different achievements of our Year 12 students.  At this assembly the following prestigious awards were awarded to students who have made significant contributions to the Kilbreda story and lived out our College values of ‘Strength and Kindliness” each day.

Sister Mary Dalton Award

This year the College awarded the Sister Mary Dalton Award to Emma Chamberlain.

Emma has always strived to do her best.  She has been a committed member of the Kilbreda Band program since Year 7 and has been a dependable and welcoming presence with her clarinet at Band Camps, Music Soirees and Christmas Concerts.  She is a passionate believer in the importance of Climate Change and has encouraged her peers to take a stand for the future of our world. She has a love of learning, is a curious and critical thinker, open-minded and has the ability to think outside the square.  This is reflected in the breadth of the VCE studies that she has studied. She has excelled in her STEM leadership role this year, putting her heart and soul into organising activities such as Pi day and Science Week.  This included the highly successful St Bede’s / Kilbreda Science quiz.  She is a great friend to her peers, has a good sense of humour and always manages to stay calm even when her work demands are piling up.

Sister Margaret Mary Bourke Award

This year the College awarded the Sister Margaret Mary Bourke Award to Lily Stubbs.

Lily is quiet and unassuming. She constantly strives to deliver her personal best and assist others in whatever way she can.  She is described by her teachers as a conscientious student who approaches all her academic work with rigorous effort and flair.  She raises the bar in the entire classroom as other students respect her efforts and work hard to improve themselves.  In 2018, she was a member of the Youth for Causes team and raised money for Mitochondrial disease to support 2017 past pupil Lani Quirk who was diagnosed with a chronic, progressive form of this disease in 2015.  In her role as Product, Design and Technology leader this year she was worked tirelessly to strengthen connections with younger students and to create activities that are unique and engaging for all.  Her calm demeanour, maturity and creative talents, will be missed in the textiles workplace.

Michelle Bassett Award

Despina commenced at the College in Year 9 and has overcome a range of personal challenges to excel both in and out of the classroom.  She is a hard-working and committed student who is passionate about learning and strives for excellence in all she does.  She is a respected and loyal friend, resilient and views challenges as an opportunity for personal growth.  This year as part of our Harmony Day celebrations she delivered an outstanding performance of ‘Colours of the Wind.’  Dazzling the audience with her gifts and talents.
