Principal's Update

At our College assembly on Monday 21 October, we celebrated and acknowledged students for their achievements, commitment and contribution to both the College and wider community across a range of areas. A number of awards were presented, recognising various qualities and achievements, including service to others, leadership, community spirit and determination to succeed despite facing challenges.  In addition, a student from each VCE Unit 3/4 Subject and VCAL was acknowledged for her commitment and perseverance towards the achieving her very best and her excellent results over the year. Congratulations to all award recipients on their outstanding achievements and contribution to our College community.

Last week was also one of celebration and acknowledgement for our graduating Class of 2019, which culminated with our Graduation Evening on Wednesday.  We are incredibly proud of these young women and thank them for the many gifts and talents they have shared with us over the years.

On behalf of the staff and students of the College, I would like to thank our 2019 College Co-Captains, Ella Allan and Naomi Russo and the Year 12 student leadership team.  They have not only been wonderful ambassadors and role models for our College community, but have given their time, during what is a very busy year, to serve and continue to enrich our school community.

Thank you also to the wonderful teachers and support staff who have invested so much of themselves to assist and support our Year 12 students during this year and throughout their six years at Kilbreda.  They have nurtured, encouraged and supported our students to strive to be the best they can be in all aspects of their lives.

Congratulations to Kate Lowe and Keely Ortland who have been appointed as College Co-Captains for 2020. Both Kate and Keely have been actively involved in College life over the years, are passionate about making a positive contribution to our community and are wonderful role models. The girls have already commenced ‘official duties’ playing an active role in welcoming our Year 7, 2020 students and parents to the College in recent days.

A blessing for our students as they sit their

VCE examinations from The Veritas Book of Blessing Prayers:

Lord, pour out your Spirit of Wisdom on these students:

help them to remain calm, to attend carefully to the questions asked,

to think clearly, to remember accurately,

and to express themselves well.

Grant that they may reflect on the best of the work they have done and the best of the teaching they have received.

Accept their best efforts in these examinations and in the great test of life on earth.

May your love be upon them, O Lord,

as they place all their trust in you.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

We Pray For

We ask for your prayers for members of our community and their families who have recently lost loved ones:

Mina Carmeni

Mother of Julia Carmeni (Past Pupil)

We pray that our loving God hold her gently in the palm of His hand.
