GREATER WESTERN REGION CROSS COUNTRY

Next Monday, 29th May we have four Miners Rest students who will be representing the school in the Greater Western Region Cross Country Competition in Warrnambool. This is a great achievement and we wish the following students the very best of luck in their races next week.

DIVISION NETBALL

Today we have 2 Miners Rest Netball Teams competing in the Division Netball Competition at Selkirk Stadium. Many thanks to Erin Brennan who will be coaching the mixed team and Emily P who is coaching the girls team. We wish the following students the very best of luck today;

On the 24th of May 2023 us girls, Ruby Hines, Makayla Wilson, Isabella Kampman, Maylea McDonald, Zoe Watt, Airlie Fisher, Caitlin Manning, Mia Jolly and Keely McKerrow went to the 2023 Winter Sports Netball Competition, respresenting the Miners Rest girls Netball team.

With coach Emily Pellegrino leading us with courage and determination throughout the day. We all tried our hardest with amazing outcome! Our first game taking on St Thomas Moore resulting in a loss 6 - 8.

The second game we versed St Pat's with a fantastic win 11 - 3. Our final game in our pool was a great success but a really close game with an outcome of 5 - 3.

After waiting around and supporting the Miners Rest Mixed Netball team, we got the extraordinary news that we mjade the semi finals. It was a tough match, even though we lost, we gave it our all.

We all had such an amazing day.
