Acting Principal's Report

We, at Miners Rest Primary School, would like to acknowledge the Wadawurrung people of the Kulin Nation.

We pay our respects and thank the Wadawurrung people.

May we share your land. We promise to look after it, as well as the animals and people too.

Education Week

Last week we celebrated Education week across the school beginning with a Zumba sessions to get us moving into the theme of the week - Active Learners: Move, Make, Motivate.

Thank you to our school community for joining us to start the week in our Gymnasium, moving under the guidance of Miss Wood - a session that should not have been missed!

Our beautiful learning spaces were then filled to the brim with families to culminate the week with an Open Invitation to classrooms. It was a joy to see children so proudly sharing their learning and engaging with their families at school. Please continue to check in with our communication platforms for more opportunities to be involved in planned community events at our school in the near future.

It's coming!

We are excited to be able to share that the Miners Rest Primary School Official Facebook Page is coming!!

We have a number of platforms of communication at our school and, as a school, we have a commitment to continuous improvement. We are excited about owning a positive platform to promote our school, to live our values and to share events that have occurred, as well as events to pop in the diary and look forward to. This platform will complement the newsletter, Showbie, SeeSaw and Sentral.

I would like to sincerely thank a number of parents who have been instrumental in creating this positive platform for us to showcase our school, with particular recognition to our School Council. Stay tuned for launch day!

Wyuna Camp

Our Year 4 students will head down to the beach next Wednesday and enjoy learning experiences related to their learning around coastal environments and sea life. We know that the children will have a memorable and meaningful time at camp and thank all of the staff attending for their commitment and time to ensure a successful and safe time for everyone involved. I am looking forward to joining the campers on Thursday and getting some sand between my toes too.

Winter Woes

The winter chill is in the air and coughs and sniffles are becoming a part of the season. If your child is unwell, please ensure that they take the time at home to recover strength and wellness before returning to school. Our children have big days of learning at school, requiring energy and focus and this proves challenging when unwell. Remaining home when unwell also reduces the risk of making others unwell in the classroom. Thank you for your support on this matter.
