C.O.P.P.S Day

The VICPOL Sports COPPS day was held last Wednesday the 17th of May at Dixon Field, Gisborne. The Grade 3/4s and 5/6s from Macedon Primary took part, along with other students from neighbouring schools.

The Sports COPPS Program (Choices, Opportunities, Partnerships, Participation = Success) is an early prevention program designed to introduce children and adolescents to Victoria Police members as positive role models and mentors in the community.  This Program promotes healthy lifestyles and positive life skills through sport, and promotes positive relationships between local youth, communities and Victoria Police. 

The program has a strong football (soccer) focus as the VICPOL Soccer club started the program when it was known as Soccer COPPS. 

The students all thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Thank you to the local police, ambulance and SES crews who took part in the day.
