Senior School Report

Senior School News

Dear Reservoir High Senior School Community,

We hope this newsletter finds you in good health and high spirits. The past month at Reservoir High has been filled with exciting events, academic endeavours and opportunities for personal growth. Let's dive into the highlights of May!

Pyjama Day: Comfort and Camaraderie

Year 12 Pyjama Day
Year 12 Pyjama Day

Pyjama Day was a tremendous success, with students and staff embracing the opportunity to attend school in their favourite cozy sleepwear. The Senior School corridors were filled with an array of colourful, comfortable outfits, showcasing our unity and spirit. We applaud everyone's enthusiasm and thank you for your contributions towards raising funds for the Year 12 Formal.

General Maths SAC: Navigating Numbers

Our senior students faced a significant challenge as they undertook a full-day General Mathematics SAC. With their mathematical skills put to the test around Data Anaylsis, we commend their diligence and dedication to their studies. We are confident that their hard work and preparation will yield excellent results.

Outdoor Education Camp: Adventure Amidst Nature

The Outdoor Education Camp was a memorable experience for our students as they travelled to Portsea. They explored the beauty of nature, engaged in team-building activities, and pushed their limits through exciting adventure challenges. This camp not only fostered personal growth but also built lasting bonds among our students. We extend our gratitude to the staff who organized and supervised this remarkable event, particularly Ms. Rogneda.

Academic Interviews: Pathways to Success

Academic interviews provided a valuable opportunity for our students to discuss their progress, goals and aspirations with Ms Volpe, Ms Pryor or myself. These insightful conversations allowed us to better understand individual needs, provide guidance and support each student's academic journey. We encourage parents and guardians to stay engaged in this process and maintain open lines of communication with our dedicated teaching staff.

Special Provision Results: Celebrating Individuality

We are delighted to announce that the results for special provisions applications are in the process of being released. These results will ensure equitable exam arrangements are made for the students in need and reflect our commitment to creating an inclusive environment that supports all students. We commend each individual for their perseverance and resilience in overcoming challenges and we will continue to work closely with them to ensure their educational success.

Gearing up with GAT Preparation: Unlocking Potential As the General Achievement Test (GAT) approaches, our senior students are gearing up for this important assessment. Teachers have been providing guidance, resources and practice materials in IMPACT sessions to ensure students feel confident and well-prepared. We encourage students to make the most of this opportunity to showcase their skills and knowledge.

We would also like to remind our students to maintain a healthy study routine, practice self-care, and seek support when needed. Remember, your well-being is paramount to your success. As we approach the end of the term, we encourage all students to stay focused, continue working hard, and make the most of the remaining opportunities. We look forward to the upcoming events, including the school production and the Year 12 Formal in June.

Thank you for your ongoing support and involvement in our school community. Together, we can create an environment where every student can thrive academically and personally. Wishing you all a successful and fulfilling month ahead!

 Warm Regards,
Mr. Lewis and the Senior School Team
