We have had a wonderful Careers Week at Trinity. Huge thank to to Ms O'Connor for organising this and to our wonderful parent guest speakers - Amanda, Jenny and Salli for sharing their expertise and passion about their careers. It was also fantastic to see so many of our students dressed up as what they would like to do as a career when they grow up. Please see Ms O'Connor's 'Family Engagement in Learning' page for some wonderful photos.
It is always a pleasure and privilege to read student writing across the school.
Here are a few of our Prep students who are very proud of their writing:
Our swimming program has continued to be a wonderful success with the Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 students now joining the Preps, 1's and 2's for swimming lessons as well. It is great to see the students becoming more independent in organisng themselves for swimming each day and to see their swimming skills develop with each lesson. Thank you to Ms McLeary for all your organisation of the school's swimming program and to the parents who have very kindly helped each day with the walk to and from the pool.
Have a look at some of our Year 3/4 students in action....
This months 'Speech Box' from Speech Pathology in Schools is about 'Improving Understanding when Reading'. Please have a read as to what you can do to help with 'before reading' , 'during reading' and 'after reading', to help improve your child's understanding when they are reading.
In Prep, our students have been investigating making patterns and using concrete materials to support their learning.
Have a look at some of the very tricky patterns they have created...
Next week on Wednesday 24th May, all students from Prep to Year 6 will be involved in National Simultaneous Storytime. We look forward to this whole school reading event. Thank you to Ms Shaw for organising this for our students. Families (and toddlers) are welcome to join us at 11:35am.
