Prep/1/2 Stay Late

By the kids...!
Last week Friday, the Preps, Year 1s and Year 2s, along with their teachers, had the opportunity to stay late at School. This included games and dinner for all Preps to Year 2s and a night hike and sleepover for Year 2s only. This was an exciting and fun evening for all involved. Below are comments from the students about how they thought the stay late went (and some of their parents!)
-----------------------------------------------------------
I liked the Minion making because it was tricky to cut out.
- Zara (Prep)
I liked the free time on the playground.
- Xavier (Prep)
On Friday, 7th August we had our stay late. My favourite game was the chocolate game. I had fun.
- Asher (Prep/1)
My favourite game was the chocolate game. I also liked the craft because we made minions. I had so much fun.
- Eric (Prep/1)
We had ice-cream with sprinkles and pizza. It was so yummy. We played the chocolate game, musical statues, a big air bag and I made a minion. At the end we had a big dance party with my friends. I had so much fun that day. It was the best day of my life.
- Ryder (Prep/1)
On Friday, 7th August we had our Stay late. We played a parachute and a chocolate game, we made minions and we did the chicken dance. It was fun. I ate three chocolates. My favourite game was the parachute.
- Pamela (Prep/1)
I liked stay late because we had a sleep over. My favourite food was the chocolate from the chocolate game.
- Jorja (1/2B)
We saw a possum in the tree and we heard a flying pig on the night hike. We got to eat marshmallows and we got ice cream for dessert.
- Lily (1/2B)
We liked stay late because we got ice cream for dessert and did activities.
- Arie (1/2B)
Stay late was really fun and everyone enjoyed it and I hoped that everyone that slept in their classroom was safe.
- Jack (1/2B)
Everyone liked the ice cream and pizza because it was yummy.
- Stella (1/2B)
It is wonderful to see 30 odd preps along with the Year 1 and 2’s all running around and excited to be at ‘school late’! It is a great transition for our little people to get used to being at school longer and then working up to school camp in grade 3. What a delight for the kids to see their teachers in a more relaxed environment and able to be a little bit ‘silly’. Thanks teachers, you do a great job!!

Our girls were so excited about staying late at school and they came home full of stories about all that had happened! Making a minion, playing musical statues and doing the chicken dance were favourites, but nothing topped playing the chocolate game!!

Last Friday was a very joyful event. I truly enjoyed watching the kids so happy and willing to do the craft activity at hand. I look forward to helping out in future events.
