Last Wednesday the Junior School classes participated in National Simultaneous Storytime. This is an annual event where teachers and students around Australian read the same book at 11am. This year’s book was ‘The Speedy Sloth’ by Rebecca Young.
The students and teachers had a great time participating. So much so that one class have even gone online and adopted a sloth!
A very big thank you to Mrs Hannah Holmes, our Junior School Teacher Librarian, for co-ordinating this event. A big shout out to Miss Stephanie Burke for co-ordinating the Year 10 Reading Buddies to go into each Junior School classroom. And finally, our appreciation to our Year 10 Reading Buddies for inspiring our younger readers and building a positive relationship with them, as well as being great models for reading.
