Principal's message

Dear Alvie PS Families,

 

Our students have settled into Term 2 in a very smooth manner. 

 

This term we welcome a number of new students and families to Alvie PS, that brings our total enrolment to 68 students. We hope that all new families feel welcome and part of our thriving community.

 

We have two Prep Information Sessions in the coming weeks;

  • Wednesday 17th May @ 9:30am
  • Tuesday 23rd May @ 9:30am

If you know of any families who might be interested in enrolling for 2024, please pass this information on to them. We are currently looking at around 12 prep enrolments for next year.

 

CHILD SAFE STANDARDS

Ministerial Order 1359 - Implementing the Child Safe Standards – Managing the risk of child abuse in schools and school boarding premises provides guidance on how the Standards apply to a school setting. It came into effect on 1st July 2022. To implement the minimum Standards in accordance with the Order school governing authorities must: take account of the diversity of all children, including (but not limited to) the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, children with disabilities, and children who are vulnerable; and make reasonable efforts to accommodate such diversity. Our Child Safe Standards policies are available to view on our school website.

 

EVERY DAY COUNTS-LATE ARRIVALS: 

We have had quite a number of students arriving to school late and doing so on a regular basis. Please be aware that not only does arriving to school late impact on your child’s learning time, it also distracts the class when students enter during a lesson. Please ensure that your child is at school, in their class and ready to commence instruction at 8:50am. If you arrive late or are collecting your students early, please do so by checking in at the office to ensure all rolls are updated.

 

MOTHERS DAY

Thanks to all our mums, grandmothers and special person's who helped us celebrate Mother's Day today. It was a fantastic turnout and we hope all enjoyed your pancake breakfast and special rose :)

Michael our fantastic gardener has been tending to these roses for over 12mths in preparation for today, they're all products of our very own beautiful rose garden :)
