Soirees
Thank you to all families and friends that attended our recent Soirees. Students gained some valuable performance experience and did an outstanding job.
Performing at the brass soiree is something that I look forward to every year. This year, I played three movements of 'A Concert Suite' by Ray Woodfield. It is a challenging piece that I started at the end of last year and have really enjoyed learning. It has helped me build my confidence, stamina and performance abilities in a fun and encouraging way. It's great to see and hear all the other brass players too and support them on their journey. Getting back into the swing of things with performances this year has been great. It is something lots of people have missed. It was great to see people showcase how hard they have been working over the last two years in lockdown and I cant wait to see many more opportunities to perform later in the year.

Year 11
Hi, I’m Jamie and one of this years Performing Arts Captains. I’m here to express how fantastic performing at our soirées held at school are and what a great opportunity they are to building confidence. I’ve been in quite a few showcases and soirées in the past years and it’s been an absolutely incredible experience every time. The feeling of getting up in a stage and performing gives me such a thrill and the support we receive from our fellow performers and staff really works wonders in getting yourself the confidence to perform in front of live audiences. We are so lucky to get into all of our live soirées and showcases this year after missing our previous years, and I personally cannot wait to see what everyone has to offer in 2022.

Music Camp
We understand that it has been a long time between Music Camps (and many other activities), and this will be the first Music Camp for some students. If you're feeling a little worried about going, that's absolutely normal. I'd like to reassure families that Music Camp is a safe and fun experience, and the Music Staff are aware of some student's concerns and will be on standby to help everyone ease back into this great annual event.
Music Camp will be filled with rehearsals, team building exercises and opportunities for students to try their hand at activities and experiences not usually offered at school. Stay tuned for a special VCE Student performance and a Trivia Night hosted by the Performing Arts Captains.
Year 10 & 11 students, we are aware Music Camp will occur during exam time. Please come and see me once you receive your Exam timetable so I can provide alternatives. There will be study time available during the camp.
Event details can be found on Compass with consent and payment due by 24 May 2022.
