We had an amazing day at CSSA Secondary Zone Cross Country on Friday 6 May. The rain had eased, the sun was out and our 32 eager competitors from High School were finally able to take to the track.
There was lots of friendly competition during the day and the cheerleading and support was prominent from our team. A special congratulations to the following students for placing in the top three in their age groups:
Thank you also to our wonderful Years 9 and 10 students and parent helpers for their assistance with various jobs on the day.

From 28 - 29 April, our 38 senior students spent the night at the Attunga camp, in the beautiful Southern Highlands, NSW!
Some of the things we did included a ‘speed dating’ frenzy, where we spent quality time learning about the various different things our fabulous fellow Seniors enjoy doing and other interesting information about themselves.
Our outdoor activities included zip lining and rafting. The zip lining was highly thrilling as we went quite fast, and the view was great over the valley - we were up very high! The rafting was also extremely enjoyable, as it put our team building skills to the test, where we had to create a raft that could float with limited materials.
It was quite amazing that we had a special guest (South Coast Life Church Lead Pastor, Joel Noonan) who gave two quite inspiring gospel talks that everyone could relate to. We discussed the feeling of not fitting in, our sole purpose as God’s people and the idea of sin and rebellion. We dived into some deep things and were constantly engaged through Joel’s inspirational presentation and kindness that he showed.
Our worship music was fantastically played by our band, with great thanks to Mia L for organising these great songs! Our camp theme was 'SHINE' where everyone dressed up into sparkly colours for our disco, where there was loud music, lollies, glow sticks and a whole lot of fun!
To help us transition to our HSC course, Mr West, Mrs Rebel and Miss Treglown gave us some great advice for setting up a perfect study environment to minimise stress and ensure that we do our best.
Our cabins were clean, our beds were comfy and a late night led to loud snoring but a somewhat adequate sleep in the end. Overall, the Senior Retreat was one of the best camps so far for many students and we say a big thank you to the lovely Attunga staff who hosted us with their kindness and delicious food.
Special mention to Mr Bray who attended our camp because it was his final school camp in 46 years! What great joy he brought to our fun-filled, exciting camp and growing school! Also, thank you to our organisers Mr West and Mrs Rebel for putting together this superb camp!
During Term 1, students from NCS Primary Department had the chance to try out cricket with four after-school coaching sessions.
About two dozen eager students were put through their paces each week by our coaches, Les and Sean from Cricket NSW. Students learnt to bat, bowl, catch, throw and generally field much better. They also received 'goody bags' with giveaway cricket merchandise to remember their coaching experiences.
NCS' own high school students Caleb M and Jonathan M were magnificent, giving their time and expertise each week to help grow the game with the next generation. Thank you, boys. Special thanks to James Flippence for his supervision and assistance to see the program delivered well. Much fun and laughter was had by all and we look forward to more regular opportunities to have after-school coaching at NCS.
Thank you to everyone who attended our NCS Community Prayer Breakfast last Thursday. It was wonderful to have almost 50 staff, parents/carers and students come and uphold our school and community in prayer. If you were unable to make it but would still like to be praying for our school, below is an attachment of prayer points that we used at the Prayer Breakfast but which you may find useful also .
