Grade 3-6 students have been continuing their instrument "taste testers" as they prepare to select their instruments to focus on next term. In the last few weeks, we have explored making chords on keyboard and attempted several common drum beats on our drum kits. Next term, students will be learning songs on their selected instruments, using our custom made website:
Grades 1-2
Students have started using boomwhackers, keyboards and xylophones to play along with songs, as well experimenting with body percussion to develop co-ordination and to match the feel of songs they listen to.
Foundation
Foundation students have been introduced to the boomwhackers, playing some basic songs and trying a few complex ones as well. They have also started experimenting with their voices and instrument when learning about the concept of pitch.
Ask them to tell the story of the man who lived on top of a tall building and jumped (with a parachute) all with sounds. See if you can figure out what happened to him!
