Perfect Patterns
Year 1/2 have been discussing ways we can create and make repeating and growing patterns. The children understand that they can make patterns with shapes, colours and numbers. Last week we explored patterns outside. Everyone was very creative in the way they designed their patterns, using a variety of materials such as leaves and bark. Check out all the amazing patterns below -
Reading
During reading we have focused on texts that relate to our Inquiry unit. Last week we read 'The Magnificent Thing' by Ashley Spires and this week we are looking at 'What Can You Do With An Idea?' by Kobi Yamada. Both texts inspire the children to work collaboratively and use their own ideas to meet the needs of others.
We have been learning how to infer based on clues in a story, by using pictures, words and prior knowledge to work out the author's message. Below are some work samples from the past week -
Parent Helpers
We cannot thank you enough for all your assistance throughout the term. It has been so great to have parents return to our learning spaces, the children have absolutely loved it!
Parent helpers will not be required to assist in Week 9, Term 2. We will recommenceparent helpers early next term.
