The Year 5/6's are just about to complete their group mural which they have been working towards all term. Their last step is to carve their design of a microscopic organism into a foam; creating a printing block. This block will be used to print their design onto a large circular petri dish background.
The year 3/4 students are putting the finishing touches on their emotion collages. Now that all their elements have been created, the last step is to arrange the pieces onto the textured background. Part of this assignment was to explain how the colours and textures portray a certain emotion.
The Year 1/2s have taken part in creating pages for Saint Raphael's Radial Symmetry Colouring Book. The students each drew a black and white mandala - an endless circular pattern that emulates from the center. Each student will receive a copy of 10 random colouring pages bound together with a cover and also their own drawing.
The Foundation students have been creating animals by tearing out paper shapes instead of cutting out shapes. Recently the students painted an icy blue background, chose their favourite animal from the Arctic and then sculpted it's face from salt dough. Now the students will combine all the elements to complete their artwork - gluing the body and head of their animal together on the background.
