Junior Sub School News

Year 7

Year 7 has had a very successful start to 2020 with all students settling into their classes and beginning their secondary school learning journey. Students have been working hard to learn and apply our STARR values both within the classroom and out in the yard. It has been lovely to see everyone making new friends. In class students have been applying the values of ambition and teamwork by setting goals for their learning and working together to achieve this. They have also shown their resilience while experiencing new systems and procedures, especially when learning to read their timetables, use their planners and organise their lockers.

On Tuesday, 11 February the Year 7’s attended the 2020 Swimming Carnival. It was amazing to see so many enthusiastic participants and an equal number of students cheering on their peers. At lunchtime students have been very engaged with the circus program and many of them have been learning to walk on stilts, juggle and play the drums. In the upcoming weeks other lunchtime clubs will begin, allowing everyone to grow their interest area and to get to know students from across the school. Coming up in Week 5 is the Year 7 camp which will be a great experience for everyone. We encourage all students to attend the camp as it is a great chance to build new friendships and get to know their teachers.
