CAPA News

Synchronicity

A wonderful night of dance occurred on Wednesday 8 August at the Cowra Civic Centre.  The audience were entertained by 35 Cowra High students from Years 7 to 12.  The creative talent of Mrs Alison Buckley was on display again as she had choreographed 7 items personally and supervised the creative process of the other 10 items, including the ‘Special Presentation’ danced by the staff of Cowra High.

By the time this goes to print, our Year 12 students, Jemma Pokoney and Jemima Sullivan would have completed the practical component of their HSC Dance course.  Enjoy the photos taken by Miss Lucy Vaughan of the night and marvel at the talent of the students attending Cowra High School.

A Night of Drama!!!!

CAPA events keep happening.  After the success of Synchronicity, the Year 12 Drama class held their Showcase evening on Wednesday 15 August.  This was a more intimate affair occurring in the Performance Workshop at Cowra High School.  We watched individual performances from texts by Grey, Ibsen and Russell, a reading of an original script and explanations of two costume design portfolios.  The group performance had us all in stitches and it all started from the phrase ‘A Whirlwind of Possibilities’.  This outstanding showcase was coordinated by their wonderful Drama teacher, Mrs Rachel Elwin.

Good luck Ethan, Georgia, Jemma, Jessica, Nicole and Sarah for your practical HSC exam on Thursday 6 September.

Please enjoy the photos of this event taken by Miss Lucy Vaughan.  Miss Vaughan has collated all the images from the evenings on the below website.

Keep an eye out for the fabulous teachers who danced, sang or played instruments!
