PE at home

Lot’s of PE activities to enjoy at home. Each week there is:

  • Printed lessons each week that can be found in your Specialist pack
  • Videos in the Specialist Videos and Learning Materials folder where Miss Schie explains and demonstrates all the activities in the lessons (hopefully limiting the students’ need for adult help)
  • A Webex session which includes getting active, fun challenges and an opportunity to ask questions about the learning tasks and share successes in their learning
  • Specialist Bingo which includes PE activities – great to use if students have finished all their work or to find a brain break activity during the day

All the videos, lesson plans and resources can be found at this link: https://bit.ly/3fvDoTY

For the lessons each week, students can pick between two warm ups. The favourite last week was sock wrestling where students challenged a member of their family to a match and they tried to steal each other’s socks!

Foundation to Year 2 PE

We’re focusing on learning to control our body in Foundation to Year 2. So far, we’ve moved like different animals and learnt how to jump and land safely. If you haven’t had a go already, how about you try some of these animal walks? Miss Schie enjoys trying to stay balanced while doing the duck walk.

And don’t forget we use our motorbike landing to land safely!

Safe Motorbike Landing

  1. Eyes forward                           2. Bend knees                        3. Hands out for balance

Year 3-6 PE

This term, we have started our Wall and Net unit. This is familiar for most of our Year 4 to 6 students who have experienced this unit in previous years, but new for Year 3 students.

In our first two weeks we have been focusing on ensuring we are in the ready position and creating a rally against a wall or with a partner.
