Drama Matters

Year 12 Drama Performances

The Year 12 Drama cohort performed and presented their Individual Projects on Tuesday for their Trial performance examination. Due to COVID-19 restrictions an outside audience was not invited, so the students were supported by our Drama students from the College. We had a production group of Year 10 & 11 students who organised the set, props, lighting, sound and filming requirements and a small and intimate audience of students and teachers. Drama is a popular subject at the College and a vital part of our life and identity. Well done to all students. Less than a month until the HSC performances.

Here is a list of the work the students presented. There were 6 monologues of 6-8 minutes each, 1 Costume Design and 1 Director’s Folio:

HSC Drama Performances

We officially have our dates for our Drama HSC performances. Monday Week 6. We wish Ms Lindley and students all the best for their performances. I will be watching the boys' Trial performances this week. I saw their group efforts last term and am looking forward to what they can do in their individual performances this time around.

The Twilight Concert

The Twilight Concert will be on this term, albeit virtually. We will be filming the Ensembles and then putting out a package for parents and students to watch. I am going around the Ensembles and telling them about this and the boys and Directors have certainly been excited. It’s great to have a goal! As yet I can't say anything about next term's Performing Arts Festival or even our Christmas Twilight Concert. I am ever hopeful but these events may also go virtual.

My continued gratitude for the support of parents at this time. I am aware that you yourselves have not been able to come and visit our performances but your support in  boys having lessons and getting them to rehearsals has been invaluable. Thank you.
