Learning and Teaching Update

'We aim to provide a school environment where ‘Every person can flourish and be known’ This means that our teaching program identifies the unique needs of each individual student, and delivers a learning program designed to grow them into the best person that they can be'.

Dear Parents and carers

We begin this Term like the last Term, back to remote and online learning, only we find ourselves far more experienced, equipped and with a better understanding of our students and families.

We have reflected on Parent Surveys from last Term, student feedback and staff feedback, what we did well and what we can do better and we have made several adjustments to the online program of learning here at St Anthony’s to better cater to the learning needs of our students. We have made many considerations, designed learning to suit the online and remote platform, accessed better resources and analysed student data from last term to ensure our students continue to grow during this term.

An analysis of our reading data at the end of Term 2 showed that 67% of our students made growth and 25% maintained their reading level. This is very affirming data as it proves that our staff, students and families have worked together during Covid 19 online and remote learning in Term 2 to ensure the student is at the centre and our focus is always on the student!

As we begin this second phase of remote learning, I would like to thank you, the parents and carers, for your support of our staff and school. We understand the challenges of this type of learning in any home and we are here to support you through this. We did an amazing job together last term and this term we are ready to do it better!

Warmest regards
