Reports Semester 1, 2020

Reports were sent home via email on Monday and Tuesday this week. We currently have 65 families whose email address bounced or who have not provided us with their most up to date email. If you have not received your child's report, you will have received a phone call yesterday to make an appointment to pick up your child's report and provide us with your email on Monday and Tuesday next week.

It is always very difficult to make contact with some families via phone and via email as these details change and the school is not notified. We try very hard to keep everyone in the loop but if you cannot keep us in the loop it makes it very tricky.

CSEF

Re: Camps, Sports and Excursions Funding

Earlier in the year the I sent an email to families regarding the Camps, Sports & Excursions Funding (CSEF), eligible to families who hold one of the following :-

Veterans Affairs Gold Card

Centrelink Health Care Card

Pensioner Concession Card

Since this email the Victorian Department of Education is discussing extending the criteria to include families who have recently suffered a loss of income as a result of the economic downturn associated with the pandemic and now have one of the above cards as a result.

Although it is not yet clear if the Victorian Department of Education is going to approve these application the School has been asked to communicate with families to complete an application form and  to submit on their behalf before the extended time of July 24th.

Please note – families who have already submitted an application earlier in the year are not required to do this.

If you think that you meet the above criteria, please contact the Office via email at: office@sanoblepark.catholic.edu.au to obtain an application form. Please note that application forms must be returned to the School before 24 July 2020.

Warm regards

Some great Changes

We are certainly thrilled with the many changes that have occurred here to our physical spaces during COVID-19. This week we installed a children's outdoor sink into the garden and over the coming weeks, I am excited to share little snippets of numerous creative projects around the school that we are developing for our students.

Congratulations Tamara

A very big congratulations to Our Tamara Busbridge who scored herself a teaching position at St Frances De Sales, Lynbrook.  Tamara qualified as a teacher at the end of 2019 and although we were so sad to say goodbye with such short notice, we are so thrilled for her and proud of her for taking on a position in such challenging times. I know that she will be an asset to her new school. She was certainly an asset to St Anthony's for the past 10 years, offering her patience, ideas, great care of children and organisational skills. We wish Tamara well and hope to have a proper farewell when it is safe to do so.

Every day counts  - even during remote learning

Please remember that the roll is marked daily and attendance is a requirement. Remote learning has concluded. Coming to school everyday to learn is an absolute necessity, so is checking in every day online during remote learning.  Our students cannot learn effectively if they have a significant number of days off, or even if they are regular late comers.  Make sure you get behind Every Day Counts!!

Each day of school missed makes a difference, with the effect on learning accumulating over time. From an early age, if children are taught that they need to 'show up' for school and make a commitment, this positive mentality aids academic and career success and brings benefits in adulthood.

TO MAKE THE MOST OF THEIR POTENTIAL NO CHILD SHOULD MISS MORE THAN 2-3 DAYS OF SCHOOL PER TERM.

If your child is going to be absent from school, please call the school office on 95460044 by 9.00am.  Alternatively, you can email the school to notify of your child’s absence at  office@sanoblepark.catholic.edu.au, or log the absence via the link on the website.

If we do not receive notification of an absence by 9.30am we are required under regulations to message you at home or work to follow up the absence. Please notify the school of all absences. Please note that prolonged absences without notification will be followed up. Many days absent from school does impact on student learning and programs designed to support students.
