Message from the Principal

'At our very heart is the desire for each individual student to flourish across academic, physical, cognitive, emotional, social and spiritual domains. We support students to grow in virtue and to embrace a view of themselves and the world that leads to peace, justice, and the prosperity of society as a whole. Ours is a journey towards hope and optimism that is enlightened by faith and animated by love.'

Dear families,

I write again to emphasise how grateful we are for every person in the community of St Anthony’s.  For your support, your understanding, your patience and your acceptance of the many adaptations we have had to make once again to our School. We are ready.

We are very much still living during a time where change occurs on a daily basis and we thank you for your positive communications over the past week as we work to adapt and refine our school structures in a time of change and uncertainty. You are ready.

Through all of this, I am so proud of our staff, who have never wavered in their commitment to each other, to our school, to you, our families and to your children. They are ready.

This time has tested us in every way but as a strong team, St Anthony’s staff have collaboratively constructed an environment that will enable our students to have every opportunity to flourish. The learning programs are designed, based on your survey feedback, to be accessible for every student in our school, whether they are onsite or at home, to provide more than Literacy and Numeracy and to be fun and interactive, connecting students to their teacher and each other every day. We know that connection is vital at this time. Our structures are ready.

We have added expectations this time around, weekly overviews to give you a clear picture of the plan of learning for the week, a portal for those who want more work to do and clear expectations for feedback given on work submitted. Improvements are ready.

We reaffirm our commitment, as Term 3 commences, to enact our vision of Every Person Flourishing and Known. Our vision is ready.

We ask you to support us with this by reading all communications over the coming weeks, staying in close contact with your child’s teacher and seeking support when you need it. Together, we are ready.

We remain hopeful of being reunited soon, for now though, together but apart. If you require any further information or resources, please contact the office. We are here to get you through this and that will never change.

Just like the Parable of the Mustard Seed, we too are capable of growing in positive directions in times of stress. We too can build strong branches that can sustain the greatest of weight and provide shelter and support to many. We too can plant more seeds so that many avenues of opportunity can continue to pave the way.

As always go gently and if you have any feedback or ideas we always want to hear them.

God Bless,

Patrika Rowley
