2021 Jacket

The Year 11’s have been working on planning for the year 12 jacket for 2021. Students have cast their vote choosing from either a rugby, varsity or reversible top. The majority of students preferred the Varsity Jacket.

The next step in the process was to look at a range of designs and cast individual votes. This was completed last Wednesday. The cost of the jacket is estimated to be $110.00.

Only one order is submitted and this will occur early in term 3. Notification of payment will be through COMPASS. If the deadline for payment is missed unfortunately no further orders are available

What a strange term it has been!

Despite the disruptions to our regular programming, the Year 12 students have adapted amazingly well to the challenges thrown their way.

The entire Senior School Team wants to congratulate and acknowledge the amazing commitment and work ethic displayed by the cohort as a whole.  No other group of Year 12 students has ever had to deal with the challenges that the Class of 2020 have had to negotiate, and the group has performed remarkably well!

To further support students, Careers Counsellor Jackie Woods will be endeavouring to speak to everyone within the cohort this term and next regarding their chosen pathways for 2021 and beyond.  Please encourage your child to come prepared to these meetings, as they are an invaluable opportunity to begin planning and preparing for the next few years of their lives.

Congratulations are also due to the year level for their excellent performance in the recent Pictionary Staff vs Student Competition.  Despite some vigorous rule manipulation on behalf of the teachers, the Year 12s were able to storm home with a decisive victory.  They now lead the Staff vs Student Cup 2-1 after the Dance Off and Water Polo at the Swimming Carnival.

Additionally, we have also engaged with Connect Education to deliver exam revision lectures in order to further prepare our students for the end of year exams.  Please consult Compass for payment details, as well as the dates and times that these sessions will be running.

In regards to the Senior School Formal, we are hoping that restrictions will have lifted in time for us to run the event.  We have pushed the date back to Friday 28th August to improve our chances.  Please be aware though that it may be cancelled at late notice, and that anyone that has already paid will have their accounts credited.

In a similar manner, we have also pushed back the date of the Valedictory Dinner to Thursday 29th October.  Again, we are hoping that the world is back to normal and that we will be able to celebrate the Year 12s graduation in a fitting manner.

As I have said to students, their final full term of school ever is fast approaching.  Now is the time for all students to elevate their studies to the next level in order to cap off a stellar thirteen years of formal education.  The Senior School Team will be doing everything within our power to ensure that students are given every opportunity to maximise their results, setting themselves up for success in the future regardless of their chosen pathway.

I hope all parents and students have a fantastic break, and that we all return to school next term ready to capitalise on our hard work!
